Maseno School innovate team are out to convince the world that human waste, kitchen remain, cut grass, used papers dead leaves among others are not waste but gold. Under the patronage of Mr. Agie Patrick, the tam started a vigorous research on how what is regarded as a waste can be put into use which can benefit the community.
The team was motivated by the large amount of human waste and kitchen remains due to the increase of the population of students in the school. “We presented the proposal to the Innovate Kenya when we hosted the Schools participating in the Innovate programme in June, our proposal was outstanding.” said Yvette Octevian Form 4. innovate members
Their plan which is at the advanced stage is to come up modern Biogas digester. Out of 3000 schools, Maseno School was among the top 10 schools whose prototype was approve for possible funding at a function held at St. Elizabeth Academy Nairobi in August. Some of the members of the Maseno School innovate team 2013 behind the project included; Maina David Form 4, Desire Genuine F4, Ndung’u Antony F4, Yvette Octevian F4, Onduru Gideon F4, Amos Odhiambo F2 Leroy Mwasaru F2.. This year 2014 the club is still blazing with fire. New members are encouraged to join.
